The MNC visited the US Coast Guard Station in Mayport and toured their large Cutter the USS Valiant. The Valiant is a multi-mission medium endurance cutter which operates in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico. Its missions include search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, marine environmental protection, homeland security, and national defense operations. Valiant normally carries 12 officers and 63 crewmembers. The ship has a galley, sickbay, laundry, sewage treatment system, radios, and digital satellite television.
