Drone warfare to be discussed at Nov. 20
Men’s Newcomers Club luncheon
Cmdr. Peter Kasiski (USN, Ret.)
Cmdr. Peter J. Kasinski (USN. Ret.), an expert in defense strategy, policy and doctrine development, who helped developed the United States’ policy in drone warfare, will be guest speaker at the Men’s Newcomers Club luncheon Thursday, Nov. 20, 11:30 a.m., at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on Bill Melton Road.
Cmdr. Kasinski recently retired from the Navy and started his own company, Flying Eye UAS LLC, in order to continue to advance unmanned systems integration in public safety and maritime operations.
Peter has 28 years of leadership in command and control, counter–small unmanned aircraft systems (C-sUAS), and integrated air and missile defense (IAMD). A graduate of the U.S. Navy Airborne Early Warning Weapons School (Top Gun), he has extensive operational and staff experience spanning several military operations. A pilot with carrier-operation experience, he most recently played a leading role in the U.S. Department of Defense sUAS (small unmanned aircraft system) program which analyzes the proliferating drone attacks against installations and deployed forces globally. The size, speed, and altitude at which many drones fly, as well as the increasing ubiquity, flexibility, affordability, and sophistication of these aircraft, are widely seen as creating significant technical and operational challenges for the U.S.
Peter has led large-scale training programs, advised senior DoD leaders on force readiness and emerging technologies, and implemented security cooperation and assistance programs with U.S. allies worldwide. He holds a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and has certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and drone pilot.
