The Club has arranged for a member tour of the new Jacksonville liquefied natural gas facility located at Dames Point in Jacksonville on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The first small-scale waterside LNG production facility in the United States became operational in May. The state-of-the-art facility has both marine and truck-loading capabilities with the capacity to produce 120,000 gallons of LNG per day and store more than 2 million gallons of LNG. Liquefied natural gas is a clean, domestically produced alternative fuel serving multiple industries to reduce emissions and energy costs.
It is a joint venture between Pivotal LNG, a Georgia-based provider of LNG services, and NorthStar Midstream, an investment firm.
Tour goers should meet at the Fernandina Beach Golf Course where we have luncheons for a 9:15 A.M. prompt carpool departure to the plant on Oct. 8.
Members wishing to join the tour should register on-line at mnc-amelia.org no later than Sept. 24 which can be done by selecting the registration option on this E-Mail. (If you have difficulty registering, please email your interest to Don Leary at Leary901@bellsouth.net) This tour is limited to 30 attendees, so register early for this very interesting tour.
