Have you ever wondered how much a full grown lion or tiger can eat? You can get the answer to that question when the Club visits the Catty Shack Ranch at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday November 13. After a guided tour of the Ranch we will stay for the 7:30 P.M. feeding of the big cats.
The mission of the Catty Shack Wildlife Sanctuary is to provide a safe, loving, and forever home to endangered big cats and to educate the public about their plight in the wild and in captivity. The Sanctuary’s primary focus is in the rescue of exotic animals from serious situations. Current residents include tigers, lions, pumas, leopards, lynx, foxes, and coatimundis.
Tour goers should meet at the SE corner of the Home Depot parking lot on SR200 Wednesday 11/13 for a prompt 6:00 P.M. carpool departure to the Ranch located off Rt. 17 in North Jacksonville.
Members wishing to join the tour should register on-line at mnc-amelia.org no later than Nov. 6 which can also be done by selecting the registration option on this E-Mail announcement. Cancellations due to unexpected conflicts should also be done on-line. Since we do not have a limit on the number of attendees for this evening event current members will be allowed to bring their spouse or “significant other” on this tour. When you register on-line you will be asked if you want to add a guest and if so, to enter his or her name.
Note that the cost for the tour will be $ 13.00 pp at a group rate. To confirm your reservation you must send $ 13.00 for one or $ 26.00 for two people to Bob Wesche with your check payable to Mens’ Newcomers Club sent to our P.O. Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, Fl. 32035. Bob will pay for the group to avoid a slow line at the entrance.
This should be a fun event, so get your money in to watch the “Big Cats” dine!
