The MNC will visit the Marlin & Barrel Distillery and the Fernandina Beach Maritime Museum in downtown Fernandina on Tuesday January 7 at 1:00 P.M.
Marlin & Barrel is currently the only Amelia Island distiller of fine spirits. Tour goers will get a private tour of the distillery where we will see the different steps of creating craft spirits. We then will proceed to the tasting bar where we will have the chance to try and learn more about their wide variety of craft spirits, including: rum, gin, vodka, bourbon, and cello liquors.
Located directly adjacent to Marlin & Barrel is the Fernandina Beach Maritime Museum. If you are interested in maritime history, shipwrecks, pirates, or French and Spanish treasure fleets, you will also want to visit the Museum. Artifacts there are rich in local maritime history, as well as historical items that include US Navy memorabilia including an actual piece of the USS Arizona sunk in Pearl Harbor, weapons from multiple time periods, and large ship models built by our very own Hal Mather.
Tour goers will meet at Marlin & Barrel located at 115 S. 2nd St. in downtown Fernandina Beach at 1:00 P.M. on Jan. 7. Depending on the number in our group we may split up with half taking the Marlin & Barrel tour first and the other half starting with the Maritime Museum. The visit of both will take about 90 mins.
The cost for the tasting is $7.00 and the museum visit special price for us is $4.00. To register for the tours sign up on-line by clicking on the register button below, or by accessing our website. To confirm your spot on the tours you must send the $11.00 for both to Bob Wesche with your check payable to the MNC sent to P.O. Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, Fl. 32035 by Jan. 4.
Come join us for two great tours at one special price with a taste of some fine spirits an added bonus.
