Foar From Home Atlantic Ocean crossers
to tell their story at Sept. 15 luncheon
We followed their epic voyage across the Atlantic Ocean and now we can hear their story first hand at the Men’s Newcomers luncheon Thursday, September 15 at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on Bill Melton Road.
Not everyone jumps in a boat and rows across an ocean but, in December 2021, four veterans from Fernandina Beach – Billy Cimino (United States Army), Cameron Hansen (United States Air Force), ‘Hupp’ Huppmann (United States Navy) and Paul Lore (United States Marine Corps) -- did just that. And in a little over 51 days, they crossed the finish line.
But the voyage is just the tip of the iceberg for these men as they continue to serve fellow veteran’s needs, working with identity issue, financial problems, housing accessibility, cognitive disorders and impact from PTSD, all which can lead to suicidal thoughts and attempts by those who have served us and their nation.
There will be a social half-hour beginning at 11:30 a.m. At noon there will be a buffet lunch. Our luncheons are open to members who may also register one male guest, and to non-member males who are considering joining the club.
The Club expects all attendees to be fully vaccinated from COVID 19.
To register for the meeting, click on the register box below. The Club has a capacity of 100 for lunch. Once registrations have reached that limit, a waiting list will be maintained.
Cost to attend the golf club luncheon is $17 which can be paid by credit card when registering (click “Pay online”), or by clicking on “Invoice me” and sending a check to MNC PO Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035 to arrive by September 10. Given the 100-person limit for in-person attendance, members’ registrations not paid by then will be cancelled to make room for waitlisted members.
