Would you like to know what happens to all of those pine logs that you see on trucks rumbling along on SR200 onto Amelia Island every day? About half of the average 200 trucks per day turn left on Gum St. and head to Rayonier Advanced Materials one of the largest producers of cellulose specialty fibers in the world. Working with customers in 40 countries Rayonier creates one-of-a-kind cellulose specialty materials used in hundreds of every-day products, such as computer screens, cosmetics, and toothpaste.
The Men’s Newcomers Club will visit the Rayonier plant in Fernandina Beach on Tuesday December 6 for a detailed presentation and Q&A on the cellulose manufacturing process that uses those trees. Since the Covid epidemic began a tour of the production line itself is not offered. Visitors need to arrive at the facility entrance at 10 Gum St. in Fernandina Beach by 2:45 P.M. on Dec. 6 for the 3:00 P.M. visit and presentation. If visitor parking spaces are full, parking in the employee parking lot is allowed.
Join us to learn more about one of the largest employers and major businesses on Amelia Island.
There is no cost for this tour.
