to be discussed at Feb. 16 luncheon

Sherri Mitchell, executive director of the Nassau County Economic Development Board, will be the guest speaker at the Men’s Newcomers luncheon Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on Bill Melton Road.
The Nassau County Economic Development Board (NCEDB) serves as the unified voice and single point-of-contact representing Nassau County as a desirable place to relocate a business or to grow and expand an existing business.
Ms. Mitchell joined the NCEDB in 2017 to spearhead the organization’s community workforce development initiatives. In 2019 she stepped in as interim executive director and is currently working to establish a sustainable three-to-five-year strategic plan.
Under Sherri’s leadership, industry experts hosted quarterly seminars and workshops for the Nassau County business community. She also formed the Nassau Industry Network to serve as a voice for current and future manufacturers in the county. The Nassau Industry Network aims to elevate the role of manufacturing within the community, raise awareness of current and future jobs and skills, and develop the Women in Manufacturing initiatives. As a result, Nassau County made proclamations declaring October as Manufacturing Month.
There will be a social half-hour beginning at 11:30 a.m. At noon there will be a buffet lunch. Our luncheons are open to members who may also register two male guests, and to non-member males who are considering joining the club.
The Club expects all attendees to be fully vaccinated from COVID 19.
To register for the meeting, click on the register box below. The Club has a capacity of 100 for lunch. Once registrations have reached that limit, a waiting list will be maintained.
Cost to attend the golf club luncheon is $20 which can be paid by credit card when registering (click “Pay online”), or by clicking on “Invoice me” and sending a check to MNC PO Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035 to arrive by Feb. 11. Given the 100-person limit for in-person attendance, members’ registrations not paid by then will be cancelled to make room for waitlisted members.
