The October Tour will be a follow-up to the presentation at our May luncheon; a visit to the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge. The primary part of the tour will be a 90-minute boat trip through canals and lakes in the refuge with ample opportunity to view wildlife. There will also be time to explore displays in the visitor’s center and walk on the boardwalk to the Chesser Island Homestead. A simple lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, ice tea and dessert is available for $10.95.
Long sleeves, long pants, closed toe shoes and mosquito spray are recommended.
Registration and payment for the tour by October 19th is required.
Lunch can be paid on site for those desiring it.
90 minute travel time from Amelia Island is recommended.
This tour is restricted to members in good standing who have accepted the Liability and Photography Release waiver. If you have not yet accepted that waiver you may do so on our website by clicking HERE. (You may need to wait a day or two after signing the waiver to register as your status in the system must be updated manually). Sorry, no spouses or guests allowed for this event.

Cost to attend is $25 which can be paid by credit card when registering (click “Pay online”), or by clicking on “Invoice me” and sending a check to MNC PO Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035 to arrive by Oct 15. Given the 45-person limit, members’ registrations not paid by then will be cancelled to make room for waitlisted members.
