December 2023 Luncheon: Jim Bollenbacher, Critical Care Paramedic

Critical Care Paramedic will discuss how you could save a life at the December 14 MNC Luncheon

          Jim Bollenbacher, a Critical Care Paramedic who has a passion for all things related to the heart; in particular, cardiac arrest resuscitation, will be guest speaker at the Men’s Newcomers Club luncheon Thursday, Dec. 14, 11:30 a.m., at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on Bill Melton Road.
          Jim practiced Emergency Medical Services for six years on ambulances, in emergency rooms, and at music festivals and sporting events. He is a graduate from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in criminology and from the Penn State, Dickinson School of Law. His paramedic training was done at the Northwest Community Hospital EMS program outside of Chicago. And, he has completed the Critical Care program at Creighton University.

          Having taught EMT and Paramedic courses and conducted numerous CPR classes, Jim is an experienced speaker and educator. He is also a strong supporter of the American Heart Association’s Hands Only CPR program which simplifies CPR for lay people and eliminates the need for mouth-to-mouth breathing. He is currently leading an effort by the Nassau County Medical Reserve Corps to train residents on what to do if someone goes into cardiac arrest.

          A dozen bottles of wine will also be offered at the luncheon in a lottery.

          There will be a social half-hour beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by a buffet lunch at noon. 

          Our luncheons are open to members who may also register one male guest, and to non-member males who are considering joining the club.

          The Club expects all attendees to be fully vaccinated from COVID 19.

Once registrations have reached that limit, a waiting list will be maintained. Cost to attend the luncheon is $22 which can be paid by credit card when registering (click “Pay online”), or by clicking “Invoice me” and sending a check to MNC PO Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035 making sure it arrives by Dec. 9. Given the 100-person limit for in-person attendance, members’ registrations not paid by then will be cancelled to make room for waitlisted members.
