Naval Ship Museum leader guest speaker
at the December 19 MNC Luncheon

Capt. Greg Allen, USN Ret., vice president of the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association, will be guest speaker at the Men’s Newcomers Club luncheon Thursday, Dec. 19, 11:30 a.m., at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on Bill Melton Road.
Captain Allen is a twenty-four-year U.S. Navy veteran who served in a number of frigates, destroyers, and Navy staffs throughout his career, including command of the USS Rentz from 1995 to 1997. After the Navy, he served in a number of defense consulting positions, culminating in his retirement in 2017 as the Chief Enterprise Architect at the Defense Logistics Agency.
He is also manager of the USS Orleck Naval Museum. An MNC tour of the USS Orleck is planned for early next year.
Capt. Allen served in multiple positions in the Pentagon between 2019 and when he departed in April 2022. He prepared for the Defense Department’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center a document that explains AI concepts for the benefit of senior DoD leadership.
There will be a social half-hour beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by a buffet lunch at noon. Our luncheons are open to members who may also register one male guest, and to non-member males who are considering joining the club.
A dozen bottles of wine will be offered at the luncheon in a lottery.
The Club expects all attendees to be fully vaccinated from COVID 19.

Cost to attend the golf club luncheon is $23 which can be paid by credit card when registering (click “Pay online”), or by clicking on “Invoice me” and sending a check to MNC PO Box 16291, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035 to arrive by Dec. 14. Given the 120-person limit for in-person attendance, members’ registrations not paid by then will be cancelled to make room for waitlisted members.
