Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport

• Our April tour will be of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport.  This airport was developed in the 1940’s by the Navy as a training facility. It is currently owned by the City of Fernandina Beach and operated as a self-sufficient enterprise.   The terminal itself was rebuilt in 2018 using the design of the F4U Corsair aircraft which were predominate in the early days of the airport.

  We will tour the airport facilities while hearing descriptions of airport operations and services.  We will also learn more about the history of this unique airport and the role it currently serves in Northeast Florida and the Master Plan for the airport’s future.
